Our Mission

TC Community Garden is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a place for members of the community to gather and share a common interest in organic gardening in an urban setting, to provide educational opportunities to the community that foster an appreciation for sustainable growing practices, and to grow fresh produce for charitable purposes.


Membership

You no longer must rent a plot to be a member of TC Community Garden.  Everyone can join as long as you support the mission.  Members receive great benefits at TC Community Garden.  The core line-up of events has something for everyone. Its fellowship is like nothing other in Northern Michigan.  ​​

Plot Rental

In addition to its year-round member programming, TC Community Garden boasts 75 plots at Historic Barns Park approximately 12 by 30 feet available to rent from April 1 - October 31.

Plot renters enjoy one-stop gardening, with most everything you need to garden on site - a super sunny location, on-demand water, on-site composting, free soil amendments, free seeds, and use of community hand tools from the extensive arsenal.   TCCG also offers heavily-discounted organic starters, tilling services, additional soil amendments and mulch on site.  No more trucking in bags and boxes of stuff and getting your transportation dirty...it's all at TCCG!
